By the way, Wisconsin people, if there's a recall election in your community or that of someone you know, please consider getting out the vote tomorrow. Wisconsin teachers (and other public workers) thank you for it.

Speaking of Wisconsin...The Onion, which I have been reading gratis since 1997, is now going to a pay site system for non-US users. Supposedly we in the UK are especially used to pay access to sites; I'm not sure which they're thinking of, as nearly all of the UK news and parody sites are free, save the bloody Times. (No, this is not them pulling our leg.)

Ouch. How are things in Glasgow? (I know it's ridiculous, because one, Edinburgh is the home of chill sissy boheme and two, I did go to the biggest student protest so clearly I am versed in the art of la revolucion, but flying back there next month still makes me a bit nervous. I mean, it doesn't look like things in England are going to get better, you know?)

Also, the Times is on a pay site system because it belongs to News Corp, who are the evil spawn of Satan. ;)

Honestly, I'm of the mind that the rioting won't really happen here, if only because no Glaswegian would want to be caught dead on an English bandwagon, particularly a SOUTHERN English bandwagon.

Though apparently someone robbed the bank down the road today.

Also because of the movement towards independence (which I am not for, entirely, but that is another post), the political environment here is a bit different, I think.
