rhivolution: the Starfleet emblem, on black background (undiscovered country: Star Trek)
Waiting around for the washing machine repairperson. They called just under an hour and a half ago to say they had a cancellation today and could stop by 'shortly' instead of next week. So of course yours truly has to take a super-fast shower and get dressed and clean the kitchen a little...only to wait about for ages. I keep forgetting about repairperson time. (Unless they called while I was in the shower, but my phone doesn't have any missed calls.)

I was gonna make cookies today, dammit.

Anyway, a few points:

- It is More Joy Day and I have no idea what to do for it except offer my Skills Of An Artist...so, request drabbles freely! As long as I know the fandom (RP fandoms included), I'm game.

- Former Fandom High people should really check out this post...I wibbled when I lost ten books, much less TWO THOUSAND, so help if you can.

- In more Queensland news, the dear [personal profile] amadi is running the Dreamwidth fandom auction for support of people there: [community profile] help_qld. Check it out.

- Please also remember that other places are having flooding problems as well and have other dire need.

There is totally a fanmix coming for this one, as well as an annotated version. 'Cause while it is only 4K, for me that is Epic Fic, and a lot of thinking went into this one, including consideration of disability and Trek's Issues with aliens. And, uh, the Proclaimers. Shut up.

Also, I've only had one drabble requested for my More Joy Day giveathon. MOAR DRABBLE REQUESTS PLEASE.

* Fun fact: we never got MLK Day off when I was in school, it being classed as an observance day in Wisconsin public schools. I believe each district determines whether or not it's a day off.
