By the way: still sick, though it's worse in the mornings.

Does anyone know how long the flu is actually supposed to last? This has been the better part of eight days, and I keep improving and then getting lousy again. I didn't think my immune system was that shitty, but apparently it is.

I would like to feel better consistently, so I can actually do some fandom stuff along with the scant few items a day that I manage around the house. [insert more whining here]

At the very least, I'd like to feel like I'm improving.

Have you already seen your GP? You should maybe get a check-up to make sure it's nothing like, for instance, glandular fever.

Hope you'll feel better soon!

From what I recall, the flu usually lasts a grand total of about 14 days (give or take a few for your own immune reaction).

[e-hugs] I find when you're at the stage where it's better/worse/better/worse, it's the virus' last gasp.

sorry to tell you that the real flu, influenza, not some other virus masquerading as the flu, can last up to two weeks.

when I had the real flu about ten years ago i spent ten days in bed wishing i were dead. high fever, body aches, hurt all over, my hair hurt.

no upper respiratory or stomach at all. just a high fever and wishing i were dead.

my sympathies. just stay in bed. try to rest and sip a lot of soup. no other option at this point.

lol. were you raised christian scientist, like i was????

your husband sounds strangely unsympathetic. I'm sorry for that. The real flu is extremely debilitating and is not like a head cold. hang in there.
