Okay, you can now all talk to me about Inception now. Go on, my son.

What I really want to know is how common the technology is in the diegesis of the film and how well it's understood in the culture. For...er...RP and fic purposes, perhaps. In the future.

(Loved the concept and story; like most of Nolan's work, though, it's not overly emotionally resonant, which Matt pointed out to me and I must agree with that analysis.)

Wedding stuff going okay. Stressed and warm though.

Yes! That was one of my biggest complaints about the film! Do ordinary people know about this technology, or just criminals/wealthy businessmen? What are the practical/legal applications, besides military stuff? It wasn't even clear whether or not Ariadne knew about it before Cobb explained it.

And seriously, not emotionally resonant at all. There was no character work! Mal was the only one who get even an ounce of reaction from anyone I talked to.

Thiiiiissss is... sort of an answer to all your points, and one that I find really interesting. I'm interested on your thoughts on it. :D

Well-done, needed more ladies.

I did not interpret Ariadne as 100% "innocent sweetness and light", but other than that, yeah.

Hm, I actually really liked Ariadne and thought it was pretty clear that she was at least as interested in saving herself and the others as Cobb, which was probably why I liked her so much -- it was very much not just about "saving him from himself" as about saving everyone else from him, too. But yeah, my original point that it needed more women in general definitely still stands.
