Holiday Love Meme

I hate asking for spoons, but it's been a stressful week...hell, a stressful autumn in general. Everything's anon so you don't need an LJ account.

If you post later, I will reciprocate. I think it's important at this time of year to...well, as corny as it sounds, share strength. Even if you don't celebrate a holiday (and all assorted stress that comes along with celebration), the weather in the Northern Hemisphere is usually enough to just...yeah.

Love.

Didn't get any work on my Festivids entry done today. Blast. I've only got maybe 50 seconds left to do...perhaps later. I don't suppose anyone might be interested in having a look at the rough draft when I'm done with it? Drop me a comment and we'll talk.

It's time for Matt to watch one of my films--he showed me The Big Lebowski, so he gets to see O Brother, Where Art Thou? We may be trying to get through a bunch of Coen stuff and Westerns before True Grit comes out. It's a hell of a lot better than what's on telly here tonight...no offence to the many of you who may watch X-Factor or American Idol, but that is so very not my thing. About as not my thing as Glee is.*

Meanwhile, on the weather front, there's been a thaw here that's run long and warm enough to melt EVERYTHING that had fallen. There isn't much else to say about it except that it was perfectly timed as the shops were running out of perishables thanks to frozen roads. And that I was tired of worrying that I would fall and break my head open, or that Matt would fall and break his head open as his balance is off due to his hand, and...you get the idea.

It is now the real Scotland In December again, which is to say, damp and a bit sullen. I can live with that.

* Even completely setting aside the compounded pile o' fail--I mean, I'm a Star Trek fan, ffs, I know cognitive dissonance--I refuse to watch anything set in a high school in the last ten years, particularly US Midwestern high schools.
