Okay, I'd like to preface this with hate for the usual killing off/maiming of the woman/POC/queer person trope. It's inevitable, as I'm completely convinced that the underlying plot arc throughout the series has basically been the fine line between Harry Pearce losing or regaining his soul/ethics/morality, and it couldn't have ended positively with the tenor of the series...but it's also the cheap way out. Yes, I know Spooks has killed off loads of people before, and they couldn't really do a finale without it, but seriously? I would have loved a 'Harry dies, Ruth exacts terrible revenge' story a lot more.

Speaking of, my real point: I am ridiculously excited at the idea of the Tom Quinn/Christine Dale private security venture being a real thing and doing extracurricular/extra-judicial activities for Harry, because I totally called that as happening and now it is canon. Okay, not if it were a real world thing, I find that politically disgusting. But as fiction...it would make the best fanfic series ever, though likely only I would read it.

I am thinking Tom was fucking gutted by Ruth's death and that's why he went to do it himself: discuss.

(By discuss, I mean, like, me and Reg, because don't know if anyone else is interested.)

OTly, for some reason, I've had 'Rooms on Fire' stuck in my head, but I want to title this post something from 'Jeux Sans Frontieres', to match the icon. idek. Leaving it blank.
