Dear Festividder!

O hai. I'm Rhi, and I'm new this year! In fact, I've never done a vid exchange before, so bear with me if I don't explain myself particularly well.

My little nibbles of request information didn't show up on the confirmation email, so I'm not sure if they went through. Therefore, I'll say what I think I said and expand on a couple things, as well as provide some general stuff about me.

Generally speaking: I'm a big fan of classic rock, among other things (link to my last.fm page)--and I really like to see vids that incorporate music written 20 plus years ago. I should also warn you that I'm a media production grad student and film geek, so I like tidy cuts between shots. Nothing fancy, just as long as it's solid.

Lord, I sound like a snob. I'm really not. I'll pretty much love anything in these fandoms, because I do love them all.

#1: Bend it Like Beckham (safety)
Music: Anything, really.
Request: Femslashy goodness of the Jesminder/Jules variety, or if that's not your thing, fem-bromance. I'd like something sweet, if possible.

#2: The Good Guys
Music: Seeing as Dan Stark is stuck in the 1980s, I think hair metal or something could be a lot of fun. Whitesnake?
Request: Whatever suits the music--action, most likely. I don't find TGG to be particularly shippy in any way, I just think it's a lot of fun.

#3: Justified
Music: Your call, as long as it's fitting? Country isn't really my thing...
Request: I really love the setting of Justified and how it's portrayed so well in the series as basically another character. My family comes from a similar rural US American place, and seeing that done well appeals to me. So...a character study of Raylan with a focus on the Kentucky setting would be ideal.

#4: Kill Bill series
Music: This one was specific. Sinéad O'Connor - No Man's Woman
Request: I've been mentally vidding a video about the Bride to this song since I saw the film years ago. I don't own the films (I refuse to until Tarantino releases them both in a set), so I don't think I'll make it for ages. If it inspires you, give it a try. Otherwise...anything about the Bride.

#5: The Lone Gunmen
Music: Well, Langly's a punk rock and experimental/fusion fan.
Request: I have loved the crap out of the Lone Gunmen for most of a decade, and I'd like to see anything featuring them (particularly Langly), really, though I'd also like to see a vid focusing on Yves, because she is just...so much win.

#6: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Music: Also specific. Juluka - Scatterlings of Africa
Request: While most of the No. 1 Ladies' characters are Batswana people and the South African group Juluka is predominantly Zulu, I find this song to be evocative of Mma Ramotswe's strength and spirit. However, feel free to run with anything you like, especially if it's about Mma Ramotswe's development over the series.

#7: Star Trek - The Next Generation
Music: Anything you like!
Request: Also anything you like. I'm particularly fond of Beverly Crusher and of Picard (and of Picard/Crusher UST), and I love Q, but I like ANYTHING, really.

#8: V for Vendetta
Music: Anything, though I'd figure something heavy.
Request: Something either politically critical or something Evey focused that reworks the narrative with her being stronger. Feminist, perhaps.

Thanks so much!
xx Rhi
