toasted crap on toast

If you don't read Twitter, I am sick as hell. Seriously, I cannot remember when I have last felt this bad...probably the Great November Flu of 2010. Sick enough not to go to work, which for someone with a Midwestern Work Ethicâ„¢ (cheers [personal profile] were_duck) is pretty bad.

(I always feel guilty, like I'm lying, when I call out of work, though it ended up being all for the best, considering the amount of GI distress and sleep I had for the greater portion of today.)

Part of the problem is I can't figure out what I have... Basically, ALL THE DIARRHOEA for the last 36 hours, though not bloody. And I am fucking wiped and didn't sleep well Tuesday night, and I had some serious malaise at work yesterday.

I haven't puked at all, nor really wanted to, so I'm pretty sure it's not norovirus at all. Mom once had norovirus when I was living with her, and I didn't get it at all, and I have a B blood type, so I'm pretty sure I've got that apparent immunity.

C. diff sounds like it could be it, seeing as I've just come off antibiotics last week, except I have a flu-like headache and joint ache, which goes far more often with the viral kinds of gastroenteritis. So.

Food poisoning of some variety, maybe? It's definitely like when I had it before.

I am hoping it's viral, because then it's over and done with and I can Get On With Things.

Still not very good at present, though I've felt okay enough long enough now (4 pm) to have a shower and put some real clothes on. Tomorrow may be a wash, we shall see.

Ugh that sounds awful :( I'm so sorry this is happening and I hope it gets better soon.

Food poisoning is my first thought, and probably the easiest explanation. Even with making a concerted effort to avoid problematic food, I still get it at least once a year. Sometimes it's diarrhea and vomiting, sometimes it's just diarrhea, but it always, always makes me feel like I'm practically dying. I've been super sick in the past, out of school for a week-type stuff, I've had dental surgery, and I still can't imagine anything worse than food poisoning. It's the fucking worst. So yeah, that's what I'd guess, especially if it seemed like it came on relatively quickly.

Hope you feel better soon. ♥

Yeah, I usually get fever and chills with it. The good news is, if it's food poisoning, you should be feeling better soon. Lethargic, but at least not miserable. ♥

I'm sorry you're ill *hugs gently*

Hope you get better soon ♥

Best wishes. Drink salty stuff if you can tolerate it. Hope & bribe the bacteria gods that it's not C Diff -- but it could be, so if you need some Midwestern Crowd Sourcing Pressure™ I'm all for contacting the medicals.

It sounds like food poisoning, though it probably sounds like other things with the same symptoms as food poisoning too. (See how helpful I am. :p) Hope you feel better asap. <3
