Dear Festividder:

Howdy! Thanks for doing what you do, you are great. I may just start here for now and carry on a bit more tomorrow. And how much do I love that someone nominated Born in Flames? I love you, Born in Flames person!

A few general things to start with: I'm a big fan of classic rock and music produced between 1963 and 1989 in general, though not exclusively by any means. (My last.fm charts are here.)

This does not mean you need to use my favourite music, but I really appreciate vids that are done to songs that the vidder loves, and to songs which are fairly rare in vidding, just like these fandoms are rare.

I'm also deeply appreciative of critical and revisionist fanworks, so don't hesitate to go there if you like.

I'm not super fond of fluff, though you'll notice that some of these vid choices lend themselves well to sweetness and/or crack, and I've said as much.

Carrying on:

Spooks
Music: Placebo - Running Up That Hill. Just a suggestion, not anything hard and fast.
Details: Tom Quinn is my favouritest favourite that ever favourited. I would love there to be more Tom Quinn vids in the universe as I have only stumbled across a few. Bonus points for Tom/Zoe/Danny shippiness or friendshippiness.
I'm not even making sense anymore.

I love early Spooks. So much. SO SO MUCH. And it gets so little vidding love in light of Richard Armitage. If for some reason you do not love Tom Quinn and Zoe and Danny, you can do an early Harry/Ruth vid and I will not be disappointed. Christine Dale is cool too. And Anthony Head as Peter Salter.

The Good Guys
Music: Foghat is the obvious choice, but also anything hopelessly 80s. I'm thinking Hall & Oates, actually.
Details: I'd like this vid to be fun, but other than that, run with it. I like Dan and Jack's broship, and I like Ruiz too.

I'd actually like a Hall & Oates song more than Foghat, even if Dan Stark loves Foghat. I think it's the stache that makes me love it so. Feel free to get silly and ridiculous with this, with Ruiz as a foil...just like the show.

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Details: Anything and everything, though stuff with Beverly Crusher is always great. Possibly a vid relating to 'Attached'? I vastly prefer UST to

To not finishing my sentences, apparently! I vastly prefer UST to fluff, and fortunately Picard/Crusher does a lot of that. However...run with anything as long as it's not crack. I'd much rather have a srs bsns Trek vid.

No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Music: Juluka, "Scatterlings of Africa" (I swear, if no one makes this vid, I will eventually do it myself. Admittedly, just a suggestion.)
Details: Feel free to do something or anything else, Festivids needs more chromatic vids! I'm particularly fond of Mma Makutsi and the Mma Ramotswe/JLB Matekoni relationship.

What I said above. These are great characters in a beautifully filmed series, and there need to be vids, even if it's not to my exact specifications.

Dune/Children of Dune
Details: ...Leto/ Ghanima is my only real not-quite-cest pairing, and that's what I'm looking for here. If that's not your thing, then something about Lady Jessica and Irulan and Ghanima in CoD--feminist reconstruction of the Bene Gesserit narrative.

I am all about redeeming Dune via either feminist critique or deconstructing the appalling Orientalism that still likely makes Said spin in his grave. Or both, you decide. Just...more of the women.

Bend it Like Beckham
Details: Anything Jess/Jules, even friendship. Additionally, I sort of wonder if one could do sly commentary on the nature of a multicultural Britain with this source material.

Maybe I'm just a pain, but what I say above is pretty much what I'm looking for. All the slash, please.

The Maxx
Details: My mind has this half-baked Maxx/Aeon Flux crossover brewing, but other than that...whatever you like, though I'd prefer a serious vid rather than a silly one.

I love The Maxx so much! It got me into comics and made me a firm indie supporter FOR LIFE. I like the whole Sara and Julie narrative the best, and then the Jungle Queen...hm. Just make an awesome vid.

Thanks so much,
Rhi xx
