I definitely wasn't alienated at all by you and Marianne's braining together on the panel, I must say. You actually made it so I was able to relate a lot more to bipolar disorder than I ever really have before. It's a really interesting point you make about hallucinations, and how that's jumbled up in the common perception of mental illness. (I've never had a hallucination outside of fever dreams in my life, knock on wood...) The whole misperception idea also links back into that consent issue that came up with River Tam--because one can't be trusted to accurately represent events, one therefore cannot consent properly? It boggles the mind. And of course, consent doesn't just mean sex, but also other things, like the ability to vote in some places...
And thank you as well, again, for the panel. It was so, so good for me to be with people who got it.
