Hey! Today I didn't only have to listen to a tipsy young Scotsman mansplaining for an hour to his girlfriend, I got mansplained to on my own damn Twitter.

I am not in the mood to explain why 'oh, it's just a mirror of Dickens, that's why she's flat' is irrelevant wrt my point about Katherine Jenkins' character (see, so fucking flat that I didn't even catch her NAME) being symptomatic of the Christopher Nolan Dead Wife Syndrome.

Also, the mirror comparison is a straw man. In the original, Belle is not the sole motivator of Scrooge; iirc, she doesn't even die. Versions of A Christmas Carol have been done where Belle has character.

Anyway. Sigh.

Also, I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and while I have some big issues with it, I want to rewrite it to make it FUCKING AWESOME because there's some good shit in that concept.

Oh yes, HEAVEN FORBID we improve upon the "source material." The Doctor has more dimensions than any of the ghosts in Dickens. CALL THE LITERATURE POLICE.
