Hmm, I think that is true but also dependent on a number of factors. Do you live in an area with a consortium? My local library is part of a consortium which means I can get books from anywhere from South Gloucestershire to Bath and Bristol and North and South Somerset for a small fee (like about £1.45). For outside the area, it costs slightly more but not too expensive. So, say you wanted Harry Potter but we didn't have it in but Bath did, they'd send it down.

I have to say that is what I seem to be dealing a lot with people bringing back books from different librarys and requests/reservations.

And also, the libraries here have just had their funding cut by a drastic amount of money until the government was told to put it back and run a proper and full service.

So there is my in defence of UK libraries but I would still love to check out the US stuff. *precioussss books*
